For more than a decade, Los Angeles producer/DJ 12th Planet, born John Dadzie, has remained one of the foremost pioneers in the global electronic music scene. Recognized as the “Los Angeles dubstep god” by Rolling Stone and dubbed the “US dubstep godfather” by Mixmag, 12th Planet helped introduce dubstep music and culture across North America, first popularizing the genre throughout the US in the early aughts via his headbanging original music and his pivotal SMOG label and event brand. After nearly 15 years as a trailblazer, 12th Planet today continues his mission as an international festival-headlining performer, tastemaker label head and essential force in the ongoing evolution of electronic music.
Voted one of America’s Best DJs by DJ Times for four consecutive years, 12th Planet is one of the most exciting live acts on the worldwide DJ circuit. He’s since grown from a headlining act in the domestic US festival and club market, playing major events like Coachella, Lollapalooza, EDC Las Vegas and Ultra Music Festival, to an in-demand, internationally touring artist, slaying the subs at global festivals like Rampage (Belgium), Shambhala (Canada), Ever After (Canada), Animalz (France) and beyond. As well, he’s sold out multiple headlining tours across North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. Most recently, 12th Planet launched his massive 2019 Swamplex Tour, with plans to expand the series via the Swamplex 2.0 Tour in 2020.
With 12th Planet nearing 15 years as a fundamental force in worldwide electronic music and culture, he continues pushing the scene forward to new heights and innovative sounds as an artist, DJ and label head.
