DJ SS played an important role in the early-’90s development of drum’n’bass, releasing a number of formative tracks beginning in 1990 on his co-owned Formation label before returning in the mid-’90s with a plethora of productions after a brief sabbatical. Born Leroy Small in Leicester, England, SS’s involvement in the drum’n’bass scene predates its development, back in the days of hardcore. In the early ’90s when hardcore began to morph into what would become known as drum’n’bass, he released a series of influential tracks on Formation, including “Breakbeat Pressure,” one of the style’s early classics. However, once drum’n’bass traded its hardcore roots for a more ragga-inflected sound around 1993, SS retired from production, not being interested in the ragga sound. He focused his efforts during this period on other labels that he ran which spawned over 30 sub-labels. The label would play a pivotal role for artists and producers such as Tango, John B, and Twisted Individual. The label was particularly prolific from 1991-1994 releasing many of breakbeat hardcores and jungles classics – such as The Psycho EP, the Colour Series, Rhythm For Reasons, Breakbeat Pressure and in 1995, his and the labels biggest track – the piano-theme-from-Love Story-sampling “The Lighter”. It is a track that has remained incredibly popular and still continues to be played years on.
He returned to drum’n’bass a few years later, though, in a big way. Throughout the late ’90s he released several records on different labels under a number of monikers (Keen, Tekniq), becoming one of the more recognized producers in the U.K. drum’n’bass scene.

Based in the east of England, Bladerunner has been dj-ing/producing for twelve years, tearing up dance floors across the country and abroad.
In 2004, Bladerunner’s talents were spotted by Ray Keith. He was signed to Dread Recordings and remixed jungle classics Renegade Terrorist, The Chopper and Dark Soldier. His debut album Analog Bass was released in 2009.
He went on to remix other big tracks such as Black for DJ SS on Formation Records and Sound Control by Randall and Andy C.
As well as regular airplay on BBC Radio 1, 1 Xtra and appearances on Kiss100 and D&B Arena TV, this artist has featured in Knowledge magazine and ATM with cover mix CD.
Bladerunner’s sets showcase many of his original compositions and exclusive remixes with consistently heavy beats and punishing basslines,
His own compositions and collaborations include crowd favourites – Spartan Law, Mercenary Dub and More Prophet. Recent hits Snake Fist and Back to the Jungle also topped the BBC Radio 1 Drum & Bass charts.
With support for his music from all the A listers on the scene, including Andy C, Ray Keith, Fabio, Bailey, Bryan G, Randall and Roni Size, Bladerunner is one of the rising stars of Drum & Bass to look out for

DJ Hybrid is a jungle drum and bass producer and DJ, Glastonbury, Let It Roll and has toured internationally in US, Canada and Europe.
Whether he’s playing a small intimate club or a massive outdoor event, he always brings the same level of passion and dedication to his performances.
Today, DJ Hybrid is regarded as one of the most exciting and innovative producers in the drum and bass scene, and continues to push the boundaries of the genre with his music.
He has been a fixture in the drum and bass scene for over a decade, and has released music on some of the genre’s most respected labels, including Ram Records, Born on Road, Jungle Cakes & Deep in the Jungle to name a few.
Born and raised in the Midlands UK, DJ Hybrid started making music in his late teens, inspired by the UK’s thriving music scene and the sounds of early jungle and drum and bass. Over the years, he has honed his skills as a producer, drawing on a wide range of influences to create a signature sound that blends classic jungle breaks, deep basslines, and melodic hooks.
